Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant to provide in-home care and companionship for a woman living with Alzheimer’s disease. She remains fairly independent and values her privacy and autonomy, so the ideal candidate will know how to provide gentle guidance and support while giving her space when needed. Responsibilities include offering emotional companionship, assisting with daily routines, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and running errands. The caregiver should focus on maintaining a calm, positive environment and helping her feel empowered and in control of her own care. Please note that the client is a smoker, and comfort in that environment is required.

Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia and possess a strong understanding of the disease and its progression. Excellent communication, patience, and redirection techniques are essential, along with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging moments. Candidates should be organized, dependable, and able to balance companionship with respecting personal boundaries. A valid CNA certification, reliable transportation, and the ability to assist with light household tasks and errands are required. Compassion, emotional intelligence, and a genuine desire to enhance quality of life are key to success in this role.
