But the essential nature of the work stays the same: it is hands-on, physical, and focused on the condition of the home itself.
A good housekeeper is self-directed within her domain. She knows what needs doing, she has her systems, and she executes reliably without needing to be told each time what the tasks are. What she isn’t, and isn’t expected to be, is responsible for the broader operational management of the household.
