Cooking with kids (using a pressure cooker) to make vegetable soup in 25 minutes! (for ages 3 and up)
What your child will learn while making vegetable soup:
- Math
- Science
- Language development

- Fine and gross motor skills
Ingredients:
- 1 can whole peeled tomatoes
- 5-6 medium white potatoes
- 1 large box of veggie stock
- ½ cup of chopped carrots
- ½ cup chopped celery
- ½ cauliflower
- ¼ head savoy cabbage
- ½ onion/shallot
- 1 tbs. butter
- 3 sprigs of thyme
- Bay leaf
- Salt Pepper
Recipe: 1. Sauté the butter and add the onions, thyme salt and pepper until onions are transparent. 2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the pot. 3. Place the lid on the unit and turn to locked position. 4. Time for 25 minutes once pressure cooker reaches pressure. 5. When the unit has finished cooking and the timer has counted to zero, carefully release the steam. 6. Remove the lid, take out the bay leave and other herb stems and discard. 7. Stir and serve hot. 8. You can also do this in a normal stock pot, cooking time will increase by 4 hours.
