Summary:
We are seeking a thoughtful, reliable, and emotionally intelligent individual to serve as a companion and support person for a bright and articulate 30-year-old woman navigating challenges related to mood, motivation, and executive functioning. This private and dignified role emphasizes discretion, consistency, and mutual respect, making it ideal for someone with a background or interest in psychology, social work, recovery coaching, or a related field. The client is highly verbal and intelligent, and would benefit from a companion who can engage with sensitivity and encouragement while offering grounded support and gentle guidance. This position requires someone who brings structure, presence, and warmth to foster meaningful engagement and personal growth.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will provide regular companionship and emotional support, assist with organizing and following through on routine and personal tasks, and accompany the client to appointments, errands, and life-enriching activities. Key responsibilities include supporting engagement in meaningful life pursuits including sobriety-related practices, fostering motivation and follow-through in a respectful and nonjudgmental manner, and encouraging participation in structured daily routines and self-care. We seek someone who brings a calm, steady, and empathetic presence with strong interpersonal skills, healthy boundaries, patience, flexibility, and dependability. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to a reliable vehicle, be open to occasional travel, and maintain a flexible schedule. This position primarily takes place in afternoons and evenings with some flexibility required to adjust to the client's evolving needs with reasonable notice. Compensation will be based on experience, with advanced qualifications in psychology, mental health, recovery support, or coaching considered for higher compensation. A background check and references will be required prior to hire, and non-smokers and sober applicants are preferred given the supportive nature of this role. To apply, please submit a brief statement of interest outlining your relevant experience and why this role appeals to you, along with a resume and references if available.
