A warm, private family in Rancho Santa Fe is seeking their first full-time Private Chef to build a household culinary program from the ground up. Required Skills:
The chef will prepare most daily meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, served family style or plated depending on the occasion, along with meal prep for days off. Responsibilities include submitting weekly menus for approval, preparing age-appropriate meals for a toddler, planning and executing weekend entertaining for 10 to 30 guests, handling grocery shopping and sourcing, managing pantry and kitchen organization and inventory, and traveling with the family on a case-by-case basis. The chef will work closely with the Estate Manager and the head of household, and should be comfortable adapting to shifting weekend headcounts with a few days' notice. Formal culinary training and private household experience are required, fine dining experience is a plus, and beverage skills such as craft cocktails and mocktails are a strong plus. Candidates must hold a current food safety certification, have a valid driver's license, pass a background check, and sign an NDA.
