Summary:
A private family in Austin is seeking a polished, highly capable, and genuinely service-minded Family Assistant / House Manager to become a trusted, long-term member of their household as they prepare to transition into a newly built estate set on several acres within a gated community. The family is open to a wide range of professional backgrounds and is far more focused on finding the right person than the right title. The ideal candidate is multifaceted, talented, and humble, the kind of professional for whom no task is beneath them and who takes genuine pride in whatever the day calls for. Above all, they are solid, steady, and dependable, with a true service mindset and a genuine desire to put down roots and grow alongside an active family with three school-age children. This is a full-time, live-out position based locally in Austin, and travel with the family is not required.
Required Skills:
Responsibilities include overseeing the full estate transition including liaising with the builder and interior design team and tracking the punch list; setting up and maintaining a household management system such as The Nines; managing and scheduling household staff and outside vendors; creating and maintaining a detailed rota nanny schedule to ensure seamless childcare coverage at all times; supporting detailed family calendaring and logistics for three children across different schools and activities including pickups, drop-offs, camps, and summer programming; packing and unpacking for family trips with careful attention to detail and ensuring the home is properly prepared before departure and reset upon return; ordering and managing household supplies and maintaining organized inventory across all categories; preparing healthy home-cooked meals approximately twice per week; and handling everyday errands including grocery shopping, laundry, and mail. The right person leads with care, takes pride in the details, and finds genuine satisfaction in making a home run beautifully.
