Summary:
We're seeking a seasoned Household Manager to support a busy family and oversee all household related tasks including management of a full-time nanny and full-time housekeeper as well as any outside vendors. The role is also expected to serve as back-up child care for the 4 and 6 year olds when nanny is not available such as when they take their PTO, sick, or if parents require overnight care for children. Additionally, this role will be responsible for house/dog sitting approximately one week per quarter when family travels.
The ideal candidate must have at least 10 years of experience in similar households, have a positive, can-do attitude with great communication skills and be a problem solver, detail oriented, proactive, work independently and have experience with children. While handling the main home and guest house, this "Jill of all trades" will be responsible for implementing a new technology system (such as Trello, Asana, or Monday.com), putting the family, home and staff on a calendar, managing vendors, house sitting, and ensuring every household detail functions optimally with minimal direction.
Required Skills:
The House Manager will manage comprehensive calendar coordination, including children's schedules, staff schedules and appointment scheduling for home and family, as appropriate. Regular responsibilities include maintaining inventory lists and keeping home stocked, running errands, ordering and putting away Costco and grocery runs, organizing closets and home, and overseeing meal planning and preparation. The role requires managing all property systems - from surveillance cameras to vehicle maintenance to ensuring remote batteries and light bulbs are functional. Additional duties include handling mailing/shipping, managing household vendors, grocery shopping, house sitting and childcare, as needed, planning and coordinating events. Upon hiring, you will be responsible for selecting and managing a housekeeper for the properties. You must have a valid driver's license and be prepared to provide overnight care of young children when parents are traveling (approximately one week per year).
