Summary:
Join a charming household as their full-time House Manager/Housekeeper! We're seeking a dedicated professional to maintain and organize a beautiful three-story, 4,000 sq. ft. residence in the spirit of the beloved Alice from The Brady Bunch. While housekeeping is an important part of the job, this is truly a House Manager position requiring a high level of organization, problem-solving, vendor coordination, household oversight, and the ability to anticipate needs independently. This role offers guaranteed hours, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to become an integral part of a warm household. The position focuses on maintaining a beautiful home environment while managing various household operations, including vendor coordination, errand running, and caring for a friendly 70-pound rescue dog.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate must possess reliable transportation for running errands (mileage reimbursement provided), exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive approach to household management. They should be comfortable working with minimal direction and confident making decisions and managing priorities on their own. Experience in a private household is strongly preferred, as the pace, expectations, and level of discretion differ significantly from traditional housekeeping. Primary responsibilities include maintaining the home to a consistently high standard through routine cleaning across all three levels, while incorporating rotating deep-cleaning tasks throughout the year as needed. This balance reflects the true nature of the role, blending hands-on housekeeping with broader household management. Additional responsibilities include managing the family laundry, maintaining organized spaces throughout the residence (including bedrooms, office, library, open kitchen, and finished basement), and coordinating with service providers. Further duties involve package management, grocery shopping and unpacking, dry cleaning runs, and maintaining household inventory lists. Computer proficiency is ideal for research tasks and digital organization. Light meal preparation experience is a plus. Dog care responsibilities include occasional morning assistance (complementing the existing dog walker service three days/week) and potential overnight stays with the dog during family travel. This position does not include any childcare duties. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess excellent time management skills to maintain this lovely home to the highest standards.
