This warm and optimistic DC family is seeking a nurturing and energetic nanny/family assistant who can help their spirited, sporty children thrive. With three school aged kids, two younger children ages 5 and 6 who love soccer and an almost 10 year old who is passionate about tennis and supported in her journey with dyslexia, the family is excited to find someone who will become an important part of their household. Both parents are in and out of the home, and the children enjoy a variety of after school activities from sports to creative play. The family also enjoys traveling throughout the year to destinations such as Colorado, Martha’s Vineyard, Europe, and the Caribbean, and they would love for their nanny/family assistant to accompany them on these adventures. With the support of a full time housekeeper, the family values a candidate who can focus on the children’s growth and enrichment while also lending a hand with family support tasks during school hours.

Required Skills:
The ideal candidate for this role will be sporty, playful, and educationally focused, with at least three years of professional childcare experience and a Bachelor’s degree. Experience supporting children with dyslexia and ADHD is a plus, as is a background in teaching. This position requires someone who can balance nurturing after school care including homework help, organizing activities, and engaging the children in sports and creative play with family assistant duties such as errands, meal planning, meal prep, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors, managing the family calendar, and traveling with the family throughout the year. A valid driver’s license and passport are required, and the family is particularly excited to welcome someone who is enthusiastic about tennis, basketball, and soccer, and who is equally comfortable supporting academic progress and creating a fun, structured, and supportive environment.
