Summary:
Our fabulous family in San Francisco is seeking a soft spoken, warm, intelligent, and proactive Nanny/Family Assistant to become a long-term partner in raising their young son. This position offers a unique balance where the candidate will serve as a hands-on nanny first and foremost while also acting as a family assistant to help the household run smoothly. The role will evolve in phases, beginning with working alongside the family's current caregiver to focus on English language engagement and home organization, then transitioning to the primary nanny role, and ultimately becoming a true hybrid position once the child begins preschool. The family requires a candidate who is travel-ready with a valid passport and willing to join them for domestic and international trips totaling approximately four to six weeks per year, with travel days compensated via a flat day rate. The position also requires flexibility for occasional evening coverage, overnight support when parents travel solo, and availability during major holidays. Major holidays will be paid at time and a half.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and a valid driver's license. A family vehicle will be provided for all work-related driving and errands. Primary childcare responsibilities include preparing all fresh, healthy meals and snacks for the child, engaging him through active neighborhood outings to local parks and community spaces, providing English language immersion through reading and conversation, and maintaining his daily environment including post-meal cleanup, bottle sterilization, and managing his laundry and nursery organization. Secondary household support duties include tackling various home projects such as furniture assembly, drawer organization, and basic troubleshooting, assisting with family administrative tasks including calendar management and travel planning, serving as the point person for vendors and deliveries, and managing household procurement including grocery shopping and inventory management. The family prioritizes capability, intelligence, and emotional maturity over specific years of experience and welcomes both seasoned nannies and professionals from related fields such as education or child development who approach their work with dedication and professionalism. Please be tech savvy.
