Summary:
We are seeking a calm, thoughtful, and highly capable Family Assistant to support the smooth operation of a 7,000 square foot private residence for a married entrepreneurial couple with no children. This is the couple's first home of this size, and they are looking for a partner who can help establish systems and household routines while removing both the physical and mental burden of day-to-day household management. The primary goal is to allow the principals to reclaim time, attention, and creative energy for their businesses and personal pursuits. This is a high-trust position within an ultra-high-net-worth household, suited to someone who is discreet, organized, and comfortable operating independently once patterns and preferences are established. Experience with household management technology such as Nines, Trello, or similar platforms is valuable, as no systems are currently in place and will be built collaboratively. This household operates more like a professional workplace than a traditional family home, with a dedicated office provided for the hire and no expectations around party planning or entertaining. The position requires on-site work, and all candidates must be willing to sign an NDA. The Family Assistant will not travel with the family.
Required Skills:
Primary responsibilities include comprehensive vendor coordination and household operations such as scheduling and managing all service providers including plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, AV/sound systems, and decorators; meeting vendors on-site, overseeing work, and reporting outcomes; and troubleshooting routine household issues. Daily tasks include mail pickup, sorting, and scanning important documents; monitoring and replenishing household supplies; laundry and dishes; organizing dry cleaning into appropriate closet locations; and handling errands such as groceries, returns, and local pickups. Pet care is a significant component of this role and includes managing two household dogs (a beagle and a Great Pyrenees), daily walks and outdoor supervision, coordinating vet visits and boarding, and providing overnight care when the principals travel. Additional duties include maintaining organization throughout the house, completing one-time projects, assisting with travel bookings and itinerary coordination, and providing light administrative support such as gift coordination, restaurant research and reservations, and tracking personal to-dos. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license with confidence driving locally using a household vehicle, genuine love of dogs with prior dog ownership or primary caregiving experience strongly preferred, comfort working independently in a calm professional environment, and excellent discretion, reliability, and judgment. The candidate must be highly attentive to pet safety, routines, and food restrictions and comfortable asking clarifying questions early before operating independently within established norms. College education in humanities or genuine interest in literature, music, and the arts is a plus, as is Mandarin proficiency for candidates interested in assisting with sourcing Chinese-language books or media.
